What Makes our candles special?

Vivente Candle Co candles are special because they’re crafted with intention from start to finish. Each candle is hand-poured in small batches using clean, premium wax and natural wicks for a smooth, even burn. Our scents are thoughtfully blended to fill your home with comforting, long-lasting fragrance—never overpowering, always inviting. It’s quality you can feel, warmth you can see, and a touch of calm for your everyday.

Why Shouldn't You Burn a Candle All the Way Down?

Burning a candle until no wax remains might seem like getting your money’s worth, but it can lead to problems like:

  • Glass jars overheating and cracking
  • Wicks drowning in melted wax, causing poor flame quality
  • Potential fire hazards due to exposed wick or overheating

At Vivente Candle Co we recommend stopping your candle burn when about ½ inch (1.27 cm) of wax remains to avoid these issues.

Why is it dangerous to burn candles to the very bottom?

The last bit of wax can get extremely hot, which:

  • Weakens or cracks your candle jar, risking injury or mess
  • Causes the wick to burn unevenly or flare up unpredictably
  • Can release more soot and smoke, reducing indoor air quality

Does burning the candle all the way down waste wax?

Yes. The small amount of wax left at the bottom is often too difficult to burn safely and efficiently. Instead, it can cause tunneling or an uneven flame.

You can repurpose leftover wax by melting it to make new candles or wax melts — a great way to reduce waste!

How to safely burn your candle for maximum enjoyment?

  • Always stop burning when ½ inch of wax remains
  • Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame instead of blowing it out
  • Keep your wick trimmed to ¼ inch to maintain a steady flame
