Wax Melts
Our wax melts are suitable for use in electric and tea-light burners.
How to use wax melts
Place a single wax melt in the well of your electric wax melt warmer or ceramic dish of your wax burner and light an unscented tealight below. Once the wax is warm, it will melt and spread fragrance. Add more melts if needed. Only burn wax melts on a level, fire resistant surface. Do not burn for more than 3 hours at a time.
How to change your wax melts
If your wax warmer is not on and the wax has hardened, it is easier to remove the melts by turning the warmer back on or relighting the tealight for 10-30 seconds so the wax loosens in the dish as it is easier to remove as a solid piece. Apply a light amount of pressure to the melt and and the melt should pop out in a semi solid form. Be sure to wipe away any excess with a paper towel.
How to store your wax melts
Wax melts are sensitive to light and temperature, you can avoid your wax melts from cracking and melting by storing in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep your wax melts dust free by keeping the extra wax in their original packaging.
General safety: To prevent fire and serious injury: burn candle within sight. Keep away from drafts and vibrations. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never burn candle on or near anything that can catch fire.

Jar Candles
When lighting your candle for the first time, burn the candle until wax melt across the entire surface. This will prevent tunnelling and create an even burn for the duration of the candle's life.
Burning Instructions
• If you want to maximize the burning time, always trim the wick to 1/8'' (3mm).
• Keep candle free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings.
• When not in use, place your candle away from direct sunlight and nearby heat sources.
• Only burn the candle on a level, fire resistant surface.
• Do not burn decorative candle for more than 2 hours at a time.
• To prevent possible heat damage on the jar, you should always stop using the candle when there is only 1/4'' of wax left.
What happens if you burn a candle all the way down?
Burning a candle until no wax remains might seem like getting your money’s worth, but it can lead to problems like:
- Glass jars overheating and cracking
- Wicks drowning in melted wax, causing poor flame quality
- Potential fire hazards due to exposed wick or overheating
At Vivente Candle Co, we recommend stopping your candle
burn when about ½ inch (1.27 cm) of wax remains to avoid these
issues.
Why is it dangerous to burn candles to the very bottom?
The last bit of wax can get extremely hot, which:
- Weakens or cracks your candle jar, risking injury or mess
- Causes the wick to burn unevenly or flare up unpredictably
- Can release more soot and smoke, reducing indoor air quality
Does burning the candle all the way down waste wax?
Yes. The small amount of wax left at the bottom is often too
difficult to burn safely and efficiently. Instead, it can cause tunneling or an
uneven flame.
You can repurpose leftover wax by melting it to make new
candles or wax melts — a great way to reduce waste!
How to safely burn your candle for maximum enjoyment?
- Always stop burning when ½ inch of wax remains
- Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame instead of blowing it out
- Keep your wick trimmed to ¼ inch to maintain a steady flame

Decorative Candles
All of our candles are sold as a decorative candle and is made for decorative purposes however if you are intending to light your candle please be aware that due to the size, shape and nature of soy candles the burn time might be less than expected. If you choose to add fragrance oil to your candle the wick + the fragrance oil will make you candle burn a lot faster than if it was un-scented. Due to the candles not being in a container the wax will melt down the sides and will cause spills so place your candle on a heat proof candle plate with boarders and DO NOT leave a burning candle unattended.
